Sing a song

I stumbled upon my love of music in the fall, in September to be exact.
When I heard Earth, Wind & Fire’s joyous song “September,” I knew that there had to be more out there. More music. More everything.
I can’t sit down and listen to the song.
The funk, R&B and disco group originated in the 1970s and created a collection of chart-topping singles. These tracks are compiled into “The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire Vol. 1.”
The smooth vocals and incredible horns behind this album sing to me, so to speak.
The “Sing a Song” lyrics encompass how I feel about the band. When I sing their songs, it makes me smile; it makes my day.
One of my favorite songs on this album is a cover, “Got to Get You Into My Life.” As I heard Earth, Wind & Fire’s version first, I’m partial to it over The Beatles’ version.
But, I never disregard where the song came from.
The addition of more horns and vocals give the song a second and third dimension. I recommend listening to both versions.
The energetic album slows its pace with “Can’t Hide Love” and “That’s the Way of the World,” but it never loses its rhythm. These songs define soul for me.
Earth, Wind & Fire knows how to make a catchy song that maintains its musical chops. Its music is inspired in a way you can only understand when you hear it.
I matched the record with a mustard, lace-up blouse that flows beautifully in the season in which I discovered music. With it, I wear flared jeans and purple, lace-up platinum heels.
The top and jeans are comfortable; I feel at home in this outfit. This is sort of how I feel when I hear this album, at home, comfortable in my own skin.
“The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire Vol. 1” is a heartfelt album that will make you feel joy, love and peace.
